MYC celebrates Harmony Day

We can't think of a better way to demonstrate inclusiveness in our community than children singing together. All school-aged children are welcome to join the Harmony Day celebrations, which will showcase and express the vibrant cultural diversity that is City of Casey.

Melbourne Youth Chorale is holding an Open Rehearsal for Harmony Day to celebrate diversity in the City of Casey by inviting local children to experience the proven benefits of singing in a group.
- Harmony Day is a day for all Australians to embrace cultural diversity and to share what we have in common.
- Harmony Day is a community celebration. Since 1999, more than 70 000 Harmony Day events have been staged in childcare centres, schools, community groups, churches, businesses and federal, state and local government agencies across Australia.
- Multiculturalism is in Australia’s national interest and speaks to fairness and inclusion – it enhances respect and support for cultural, religious and linguistic diversity.
- Our cultural diversity is one of our greatest strengths and is at the heart of who we are. Multicultural Australia is an integral part of our nation’s history and character.
We're giving the gift of music to any child who wants it - no strings attached!
There will be Harmony Day games, Harmony Day songs and Harmony Day Craft Activities - to suit all ages of school students.
Arrive by: 4:45pm for a 5:00pm start. Enter through the main entrance at Federation Uni and we'll meet you in the foyer. Free parking in the university carpark after 4:30pm.
Parents of new children are welcome to stay and watch the rehearsal.
